While the origins of this annual holiday are unknown, most people of a “certain age” probably remember the thought-provoking television series where nothing was quite what it seemed. Or was it?

Hosted and created by Rod Serling, The Twilight Zone aired from 1959 through 1964. Strange and surreal things often transported ordinary people into another dimension during the twisted sci-fi thriller with the super-creepy theme song.

Twilight Zone Day is mysterious, weird, surreal and perhaps a little scary. We can think of many other adjectives, but I think you get the picture. Every once in a while, you have a day like this. And, today is designed to be that day.

The television show The Twilight Zone, was created, written and narrated by Rod Serling. It premiered on October 1, 1959. The episodes were wildly popular, stretched the imagination, and captivated viewers. The show aired from 1959-1964.

Our research did not find the creator, or the origin of this day. In researching this day, we were quire surprised to find no logical root s for this day. The Tv show first aired on October 1st, 1959. May 11th marks neither the birth, nor the death of Rod Serling (it's creator).
