Daiquiri is a type of cocktails whose main ingredients are rum, citrus juice (typically lime juice), and sugar or other sweetener. This recipe developed by Jennings Cox who was an american mining engineer. Its comes under the a categories of basic drinks and listed in David A. Embury's classic The Fine Art of Mixing Drinks. In the year  1909 this drink was not so popular but when Lucius W. Johnson (U.S. Navymedical officer) introduced it to the Army and Navy Club in Washington, D.C. number of drinkers increased drastically and drink became popular in the 1940s . Daiquiri  was one of the favorite drinks of writer Ernest Hemingway and President John F. Kennedy. 
If you're a health conscious you may want to replace some or all of the sugar in your daiquiris with real fruit. You can try strawberries, mangoes, pineapples, blueberries or peaches, fresh or frozen, with ice, lime juice, rum and sweetener to taste. Don’t use raspberries and blackberries because their flavour not match with daiquiris  If your fruit is fresh and sweet, you may not need to use any sugar or syrup at all.

You can try some variations like Hemingway daiquiri make it using two and a half jiggers of white rum, juice of two limes and half a grapefruit, six drops of maraschino liqueur, without sugar. For making  Banana daiquiri you can use regular daiquiri with a half a banana. Avocado daiquiri is a very healthy version of  daiquiri, you can prepare it using  regular daiquiri with half an avocado.  Commercially they use larger machines for preparing  such drinks and a wide variety of flavors made with various alcohol or liquors.
